Statement
Colour and design have always been a passion of mine and continue to play an integral role in establishing myself as an artist. Part of my journey involves studying and observing the work of other artists, particularly those of the abstract expressionist period. Creating a new piece of art is exciting as I am never sure what will ultimately evolve. I paint in the moment. There are hours and sometimes weeks of failure, experimentation and frustration but there are moments of pure joy when a piece comes together. I prefer working on larger canvases with either a soft, etherial colour palette or an explosion of bold, jewelled colours. My work is an expression of texture, detail and various tools. Art is a piece of my heart, my soul and moments in my life.
